On the 29th and 30th of November, the Azurém Sports Complex hosted the 1st Women’s Basketball Concentrated Day (CD), organized by the Academic Association of the University of Minho (AAUMinho). The Minho pavilion was home to eight teams, including the formation of the Minho Academy.
The AAUMinho women’s team debuted on the field on Tuesday morning, with a safe victory against the Academic Association of the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, after winning the match by 40-19. In the afternoon, the feat was repeated and the Minho basketball players triumphed against the Academic Association of the University of Beira Interior, by 33-17.
On the last day of the competition, the victories remained. In the morning, AAUMinho won the Polytechnic Institute of Beja, by 37-16. In the afternoon, the formation faced and won the Academic Association of Coimbra, by 41-28.
With four wins in four games, the AAUMinho Women’s Basketball team is provisionally in first place in the league table. The group returns to the competition with the 2nd CD, in Coimbra, on 27th and 28th of February.
