The Academic Association of the University of Minho (AAUMinho) was present at the 2nd Concentrated Day of Men’s Basketball, from February 27th to March 1st, in Coimbra. The Minho team added four wins in five matches.
The games started in the morning of the 27th of February, against the Academic Association of Coimbra. The formation of the Minho Academy lost by the smallest margin, by 47-46. In the afternoon, luck smiled at AAUMinho and the team beat the Academic Association of the University of Aveiro, by 41-24.
On the second day, the University of Minho team played just one match, against the Academic Association of the University of Algarve. The game ended with Minho’s victory, by 43-37.
On March 1, AAUMinho scored twice and won both matches of the day. In the morning, the formation won against the Polytechnic Institute of Beja, by 56-16, while, in the afternoon, it won, by the minimum margin, the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco, by 34-35.
With nine games played in the two rounds, the Minho Academy team added seven victories, which reflects its effectiveness and quality. In this way, AAUMinho finished in third place in the league table and is qualified for the play-off of access to the final phase of the National University Championship.
